Beginnings

I've been encouraging the girls in Design Class, which happens one Monday each month, to look at where they are going in 2016.  It's good to take a look at what we're doing, and what we're achieving...or NOT achieving!  I've taken my good advice, and formalised some plans for this year in my own creative endeavours.  One of my plans is to quilt often, daily would be good but not realistic, and to work on something I just love...not to create a masterpiece and not to finish a quilt for a competition or Challenge, but simply to work on because I love quilting.  So, today I have begun...
My piece of white fabric is about 110cm square.  I've marked a circle in the centre and begun with half a feather...because I love feathers!  I've begun with red thread...because I love the colour red.  I'll just see where this project goes and keep you informed of my progress.

BACK AGAIN

After a long absence, I've decided to get busy with the Blog again.  It's such a good way to keep in touch with girls who weekly attend the Studio and also our wider group of friends.
This Sunday, C.ex Coffs is opening its Annual Art Exhibition and Competition.  It is an event for local artists, using different media, to show and sell their work.  The work of sixteen Textile Artists from the Fabric Art Studio will be displayed.  If you'd like to have a look, it will open 2pm Sunday 21st February and close 4pm the following Wednesday.  Entry by gold coin.  Please vote in the Viewer's Choice.  There's a very nice prize for one lucky voter and also a lucky door prize supplied by The Fabric Art Studio.
Hope to see you there.
